Mike's daily spazz

Day by day by day by day
Feb. 4th, 2005 @ 05:17 am livejournal is over
I've come to terms with the fact that I will never update this journal again.
I have too much to do in school and when I do have time I don't want to sit in front of a computer and rant when I have real people I can rant to.
So I am hereby killing this journal.
I'm saving the name just because it's mine.
I have a few ventures that I'm pursuing currently that ya'll might be interested, here's the links:
www.livefire.org <- updates are still on the way... they might just stay that way

also, I have (( 50 )) Gmail invites that I should use... anyone want a couple?

so here I am, I finally have a spare... hour... to update my journal

so since last update
I've gone mountain biking twice now over the span of 2 weeks
first time I had no idea where I was going or where I was going to end up, so I spent 4 hours wandering around in the woods

The first time it was by pure chance that I found the entrance to the park (3 miles away) because I missed the one that people told me to go to...
so I spent all my time blazing trails and retracing my steps until I found a road that sounded familiar...
in total I went 14 miles... decent

I went a second time and this time actually looked for a map first and found a nice lady that sold me one ;-)

so I know someone has to have had their parents tell them that crazy people live in the woods

well I met one of them
and he saved my life
I was riding through the woods and I had to go down a REALLY steep grade
we're talking loose dirt, rocks, roots and all this with both my brake pressed and my butt skidding against the rear wheel
in other words, "AWESOME"

so after a short stint of this I grab a tree and hold on for dear life
and stop for a rest
after a few moments I see this guy down what doesn't seem to be a trail
he's sitting there smoking so I ask him if he's alright
he gets up real quick and starts almost yelling that he's fine and he was just taking a break (over and over and over)
then he starts to tell me not to go down the trail I was on, but I needed to take his trail
so I go down a little farther and I see that the trail does a very sharp switchback (basically a hairpin turn) down hill, same grade and the outer edge of the switchback is crossed off by two trees at just the right height to make you flip over the handle bars and that leads into a ravine
so I turn around and start to thank to guy and he starts rambling about how her hates the city and he loves it out here and most of it I can't understand, but he'll get all riled up about how people kick him and call him crazy and he can't figure anything out in the city and how he is exercising his lungs out here by yelling and screaming and no one cares and how he got thrown out of a building in shackles and handcuffs because he puked in a trash can and how he was a vertical thinker and everyone else was horizontal

after about 10 mins of this (while I'm praying for him not to mug me) he says have a nice day and take it slow

yea so I left and thanked God that he had sent someone as nice as this guy to keep me from dying

yea so that was my adventure in the woods
then I got lost looking for a party on friday night
Paul and I went about 4 miles looking for this house while walking along the highway
and we finally made it to the right street, we were on a hill and could literally see my dorm not but 2 mins walk away...

so I finally went to my first party and I have the hook up now for parties in the area
I had 4 beers and I stopped at that, though I think I could have gone a lot farther, but then it wouldn't have been so much fun

and during the party I met Lola who just randomly showed up
and we got drunk and had a lot of fun
also met katie who had an adverse reaction to medication and alcohol and fell asleep on the toilet

so overall it was a great party
Lola is from Virginia and we have a lot in common, so we'll see where this goes

last night I went swing dancing with Lola (lots of fun, lots of trying to remember how to swing dance)
and then she showed me around the city and ellicot city and the inner harbor
good night to say the least... next time I'll make sure I'm wearing pants and the right shoes...
because I don't think it's right to swing dance in shorts, sneakers, and a tshirt

goin over to her dorm tonight for a movie
I don't know if anyone has heard of the swingers, but she says I have to see it
guess I don't have a choice, which is fine for me

I'm not doin so well with classes, but I think I'm gonna make a turnaround here pretty soon
I just need to tell my floor to F* off so I can do work

so other than all that?
my show is still doin great and I'm having fun with that, still playing songs that have profanity in them, but other than that...
losing listeners, but it might just be a dip since most of the people that usually listen went clubbin

oh well

ya'll keep in touch and stay on the forum ( www.livefire.org/forum ) if you forgot

talk more later?

so here I am
really tired...

as per usual...

I got lost in the woods near campus
I went biking and tried to find Patapsco State Park
it was said to be about a mile away, but I ended up going 3 miles and had to ask around a lot before I found the entrance
and once I found it I really didn't know where I was or where I was going... great...

so I found a trail and started riding through the woods, hoping to get to gun road, which sounded familiar
so I kept going and going and asked around some more (that just ended up getting me more lost)
and I made it to a dam in the middle of nowhere
the map showed a bridge across the river (Patapsco) which led right to I-95 (which leads right to UMBC) and I get there to find that the bridge was washed out years ago... great

when I finally got back (and ate about 3 full plates of grub) I had gone about 14 miles through the woods and on roads and other things and it took about 4 hours

lotsa fun, but not on an empty stomach

other than that I've just been chillin over here
doin my radio thing
(thurs night 11-12 www.wmbc.umbc.edu )
and trying to fix my computer (the pc has a/multiple viruses)

all that and I have to watch movies with the hall nightly (almost manditory)

lotsa concerts coming around here
Bad Religion
Five for Fighting and Train (throw me a bone... I'm going because a lot of friends are and I can't get them to go to other concerts)
Flogging molly came, kittie came
and lotsa local acts
kinda cool: we have local shows every thursday and friday night over here (yay)
and I love engineering Chemically powered car

also... check this out!
Campus Game
and these:

note above: not just tired... utterly wasted away

it's 11:45 am
I left for a concert at 6 pm monday night
I got back from that concert 30 mins ago
can you say...

well this was indeed the best, most crazy, wild, and exciting concert I've ever seen
DC KICKS DICK!! (or ass whichever you prefer)

so I met this chick there and she's beautiful and awesome and has no uterus

so we (andy and I) went to her dorm at GW and had the extended version of the night of our lives
don't worry I'm still a virgin

she was awesome, though
after walking through most of the DC lawn she cleaned our clothes, let us take showers, etc.

and we took the metro to a bus to BWI and then a cab home which took about 3 hours

it was incredible
unfortunatly I have a quiz in an hour and class from 4-8 tonight, so I'm screwed

wish me luck O_O

well I'm in class and we're arguing about a plumbing company versus a teen heart throb

at least it's funny
what a bad day
john kept me up till 4 am (no class till 12) with his bitching about english and asking about french stuff, etc.

He's so immature it's incredible... how'd he get into college?
if his parents didn't live 15 mins away he would die
and he told me he wants to join the ROTC
and he wants to be an engineer
and he sucks at math
and he likes to smash things... not always his things, but everyone else's things
and he asks me stupid questions about everything
I can't take care of him and me... it's just not possible

he pisses me off so much
my roommate sucks

but it's a double edged knife...
I don't want to leave my room... as in I LOVE my hall
so there's no way in hell I will move out

I'm gonna have to talk to my RA about this...
and I really don't want to get a worse roommate... that may be the case....

on a lighter note...
forums are back online

and I'm going to try and get the frame by frame comic going again
I have some people that are interested, so we'll see what happens

anyone see the newest newsweek cover?
can you say goatse?

well I'll be gone for most of friday

Tran is takin me to the middle of the woods so I can get shot at
Airsoft (check it out)
it's like paintball, but with replica M-16s and soft rounds instead of paint

and my neighbor started a fight club over here...
I'm gonna join

wish me luck

Sep. 12th, 2004 @ 03:49 am I love my floor
Current Mood: draineddrained
Current Music: Incubus - Aqueous Transmission
My floor has got some of the coolest and strangest people in the entire campus here at UMBC

PICTURES!!Collapse )

and that's just to name the ones I have pictures of
everyone has their own unique personalities and they're all a LOT of fun

and just recently I got to hang out with someone completely new, Britt, and then her entourage from the Chesapeake dorms...
Zambinad (I think), Michelle, Dimitri "Jack", Kim, and some others I can't remember right now...
lots of fun there

all that and I've expanded my music collection from 1300 to 2200 since I got here

and the best part? our RA doesn't really care about alcohol on the floor
so people have been gettin drunk all over the place
unfortunately it's all been hard liquor and I don't really want to get into that schtuff just yet

classes are lax at best right now
I'm havin a ball with it all

well I'm goin to church tomorrow, so we'll see how that all works out...
since it's almost 4 am
livefire.org/forum is messed up, I know, and I'm working to resolve it
fortunately I saved all the data, unfortunately I can't get it to work smoothly yet (though I got sci-fi to work perfectly...)

night ya'll
